Whistler, BC Short-Term Rental Regulations (2026)
Properties must be zoned for 'tourist accommodation' or 'temporary accommodation' to legally operate as a short-term rental in Whistler; residential-zoned properties cannot be rented to tourists for any length of time. A valid municipal Tourist Accommodation Business Licence has been required since 2017, and as of May 1, 2024, hosts must display their business licence number on all short-term rental platform listings. Hosts must also register with the Province of B.C. by May 1, 2025 once the provincial registry is in place.
