Blue Mountains, ON Short-Term Rental Regulations (2026)
The Town of The Blue Mountains classifies any property rented for less than 30 days as a Short Term Accommodation (STA), which requires a licence. Properties must be zoned to allow for an STA, and operators must comply with fire, building safety, property standards, and Town by-laws. A moratorium on new STA licences outside a prescribed exception area was introduced in March 2023.
Licensing and Permits
Blue Mountains requires hosts to obtain an STR license or permit before listing their property on platforms like Airbnb or VRBO.
